distractions Must Bow

It has been almost a year since I have followed up on this vision that got started last year. You know, its funny how things work out. I started the Underground because I felt the Lord told me to do so. I got started right away full of passion and then I think everything just came against me. In the past year, my wife and I were expecting twice. We unfortunately lost both children. In between that our oldest son was diagnosed with a brain tumor. We spent many weeks living in the hospital for a couple surgeries. There were times of some of the lowest lows and the highest highs I have experienced in my life. True story, we took our son for an eye exam because he said his one eye was blurry. We thought that he needed glasses. After that it was a whirlwind of medical centers. When my son came out of surgery the first time and everything in his face was so swollen, its the first time I literally couldn't stand, I had to take a knee. We spent a week waiting just to find out if the tumor was cancerous or not. Nights where you couldn't sleep, spent on the floor in the living room praying, questioning, asking.

There is this new song by Chris Tomlin called Doesn't He. It says in the chorus, "praise Him in the light of the morning, praise Him when the night is long". Man has that song really hit home for me. I am happy to say that we saw the Lord's hand carry us through everything. In the end, my son is a happy growing, soon to be teenager. In many ways it was a miracle, a tumor that wasn't completely removed that would need weeks of additional radiation just died. There's me high-fiving the doctor! First round of scans clear, but let's wait 3 more months to confirm. Next round of scans clear! No regrowth, no radiation needed. God is good all the time!

Then the Underground starts popping up in my thoughts. I remember I was still setting up the website and haven't even finished editing it. I come back here and check on things, start doing some editing. I go to check the email. Would you believe that on some no-name website called the Underground Church that wasn't even finished with editing and barely published three wonderful people signed up to commit to being the Church and submitted for a certificate to be a part of the Underground Church. I have no words. God is good all the time! I have failed these three people, you have had to wait too long. I will be sending your certificates shortly. I cannot say thank you enough. All my heart wants to do is motivate people to draw closer to the Lord, to participate in the mission of Christ to advance the church. So all I can say is life hit hard and tried to distract, but all distractions must bow to the Lord. We are back and more passionate and fervent than ever. More to come, hopefully much more to come in the future. Oh and did I mention I got to watch my oldest, who went through all this at 11, get baptized end of June!
